Your New Hire Checklist

There’s a lot to do when starting a new job. Our benefits checklist will help you keep everything straight.

  • Review your benefits. Here’s an overview of your Hertz benefits.
  • Choose the right coverage for you and your family.
  • Enroll or waive coverage within 30 days of your date of hire here. Use the calculator on this page to determine your enrollment deadline.
  • Have the Social Security Number (SSN) for each of your dependents handy when you enroll.
  • Save your confirmation statement at the end of the enrollment process: this serves as your proof of enrollment.
  • If you elect to enroll in a Health Savings Account (HSA), Optum Bank may reach out to you if they have questions regarding your eligibility.

When Your Coverage Begins

  • Your coverage begins on the 1st of the month following 30 days of continuous employment.
  • This coverage is not to be confused with any other benefits, such as the Hertz Employee Car Rental Discount (90 days).
  • Premium rates are posted here.
  • Hertz subsidizes medical and dental coverage premiums.
  • You can enroll online or by phone.

Your benefits are dependent upon where you live.

Make sure your location settings are accurately configured at the top of the page. You should select either USA Mainland & Alaska or Hawaii.
